As of in January 2010 Allied Group has been generously sponsoring the work of the Polisportiva Ospedale G. Verdi in Villanova D'Arda (PC).
The company is immensely pleased to make this particularly meaningful gesture because Regia Basket Villanova, recipient of the sponsorship, is a very special team. Founded fifteen years ago as part of rehabilitative therapy for disabled youths at Villanova hospital, as time went by it turned into a proper team, of a high enough standard to take part in competitions like the National Wheelchair Basketball Championships. Regia Basket Villanova today plays in Group B of the Italian Paralympic Committee and is a serious contender for a place in A2, which does not appear to be far off.
However, the players and organizers have had to face many challenges to get this far. Wheelchair basketball is a very costly sport in terms of both transport and equipment (it requires a special wheelchair, custom built for each player, with at least four wheels and adjustable features).
Allied Group decided to offer reasonable support in order to help Regia Basket Villanova with these requirements. Backing the team in its present and future successes...
